Wirecast Documentation [Versions before 4.2]

DaCast is completely compatible with flash supporting encoders, including Telestream’s Wirecast live-streaming software.

Once you have configured Wirecast for your recording needs and are ready to start using the software through DaCast, simply click the “Broadcast” icon. This will launch a “Broadcast Settings” window where you can establish a connection point with DaCast.

Once at this window, you will want to open up your DaCast channel profile that you saved.

To do this, click the “Open FMLE XML File” button located on the lower right. This will launch a new window where you can search your hard drive. From this window, navigate to and select your DaCast channel profile file that you saved (default file name: “Dacast_[your channel name]”, unless renamed).

Next, make sure “RTMP Flash Server” is selected as your destination. If this is your first time using the Wirecast software, this will be the default option selected. If it’s not selected, click the arrow for the destination, located above the address bar, and select the “RTMP Flash Server.

Finally, click “save” at the bottom and you are now ready to start broadcasting your content over the internet through DaCast.

If you want to do multi-bitrates using Wirecast, there is a separate walkthrough here:
